Missoni for Target

I was very excited to learn a few months ago that Missoni would be creating a collection for Target to be released September 13. I waited eagerly to see the collection beforehand, and now all of the images have been released. I found them here.

I am most excited about their home stuff including those teacup and saucers, cute bar accessories, not to mention the desk accessories. I know people were underwhelmed by the quality of the Calypso for Target clothing, but I sure hope the Missoni clothing doesn't disappoint, because I would love to pick up one of their signature zig-zag sweaters at an incredible cost!

Entryway

I promised some updated house pictures and today is the first day of the reveal.  To be honest most rooms are not finished based on furniture delays so it could be some time until I can show you a completed room, plus I am definitely missing artwork.  One of the first things to be finished was our entryway:

I hope to recover the bench with some new fabric some day, you know as they say your house is never ever really "done."

Monday Escapes: Sin City

I just returned from a very fun bachelorette party in Las Vegas.

We spent days lounging by the pool and shopping:

H&M at the Forum Shops

And nights going out to fabulous restaurants and clubs to celebrate the Bachelorette:
I haven't been back to Vegas since my Bachelorette party 3 and a half years ago and even though new hotels dotted the strip it is still the same Vegas:

I'm Back!

I am finally back!!  Since I started Travelmoon in October I have managed to not miss a single post and then here I am missing nearly two weeks.  My big excuse: MOVING!  Even though I managed to move across country and then again to an apartment without missing a post this one took everything out of me along with having visitors for the past week.  So I'm back and definitely have a lot of house projects to share!

But for now I'm heading off to a Bachelorette party in Las Vegas:
1. Sam Edelman 'Lorissa' Pump
2. Parker Sequin Wrap Dress
3. Alexis Bittar 'Miss Havisham' Bangles
4. Zoya Nail Lacquer

July Book List

Bringing Home the Birkin.  The true story of Michael Tonello's foray into the world of Hermes.  An ex-pat now living in Barcelona, Tonello discovered a lucrative venture that led to him gaining and insider's perspective on the elusive Birkin bag.  This book has many great points: first, the look into the extravagant and excessive world of Hermes and those that purchase its products; second, it's set against a gorgeous European scenic backdrop that takes Tonello beyond Barcelona across the European continent; third, Tonello's engaging writing style.  This is a perfect summer read!

A Visit from the Goon Squad.  This Pulitzer Prize winning novel was this month's book club pick.  Met with the most varying reviews from our book club selections yet, responses ran the gamut from love to hate of the read.  I personally fell on the love side.  The novel is comprised of intersecting stories and characters revolving around the music industry.  The book spans many years and does not take place in a linear fashion, instead moving back and forth in time depending on the chapter and point of view.  Despite the characters deep flaws you find yourself rooting for them in spite of yourself.  I found the book riveting and worth its praise.

A Piece of Cake.  This is the memoir of Cupcake Brown's life--her evolution from an abused child riddled with addictions to becoming a successful lawyer in her adult life.  Brown suffered innumerable atrocities in her youth, that sometimes leaves you reeling and not sure if you could even read on.  Becoming a drug addict very early in her youth, it seems her life is heading nowhere, until she hits rock bottom and turns her life around.  This story of triumph over a horrific childhood is empowering and inspiring, not to mention it will stick with you long after you finish the last page.

Square Cabinet Pulls

One of my last home purchases (for now) is our kitchen hardware, which we decided to install after we close.  I wanted square cabinet pulls at an affordable price that would hopefully end up looking like some of these inspiration kitchens below:

Coincidentally, last night on Bravo's Flipping Out, Jeff Lewis professed his love for square pulls, preferably placed horizontally on cabinets.  Square cabinet pulls could be seen throughout the episode on his rental property and one of his remodels.  (The hardware pictured here is actually more rounded.)

I love how they add a modern touch to any style of kitchen:

The most affordable option I found are these from Ikea:
