I am loving the ease and comfort of drawstring shorts as the summer temperature have reached triple digits.  There are so many price points and styles to choose from not to mention options to pair with this look in order to dress it up or down: whether it be wedges or flats, a flowy top or a simple t-shirt, sweater or blazer, drawstring shorts aren't just for the gym any longer!

Solids: Zara Drawstring Shorts $19.90 | Madewell Clipboard Shorts $88
Stripes: Forever 21 Striped Shorts $6.80 | Malene Birger Shorts $135
Patterns: Myne Cody Printed Short $176 | Forever 21 Silk Self-Tie Tribal Shorts $19.80

Gas Bijoux

My biggest regret from visiting NYC is that I missed stopping at Gas Bijoux, the NYC boutique of the French based costume jewelry company.  Upon my return, my friend who happened to be visiting at the same time showed me her newest purchase, and I instantly fell in love:

She had purchased her first bracelet in Paris and added a another one to her collection.  I especially like the idea of wearing multiple bracelets at the same time.  The boutiques can only be found in New York, France, Italy, and London.  I must have been only streets away from their Soho boutique but luckily you can shop online here

Closet Envy

What girl hasn't dreamed of having her own Sex and the City closet experience?  You know the one...where your significant other surprises you with the closet of your dreams: airy and bright with endless amounts of space for clothes and bags and shoes.

Well, I am just excited to have a closet that will house both my husband and my clothes.  So far he has always been relegated to the guest closet.  And now my closet will have designated shelves for shoes, bags, folded clothes, and multiple spaces for hanging racks:

What you can't see is another set of shelves for my husband's shoes!

I'm hoping one day I will have the space for a fabulous shoe collection to rival the closets featured on The Coveteur:

Until then, I will just settle with day dreaming!

One of my favorite things about Pinterest is the amount of wanderlust it can inspire with just a simple search.  Name the place you dream of visiting and with the click of a mouse you can be transported all around the world with some stunning photography:

Have a great week!

Arabian Home Decor

I was tipped off to this online Ebay store based in Cairo, Egypt that has fabulous global finds for prices at a steal.  Arabian Home Decor carries handmade Egyptian, Bedouin, Arabian, and Moroccan items.  While I can't speak to the quality as I haven't ordered anything yet myself, this shop is ranked as a Top Rated Seller with near perfect feedback.  Top of my list is that Mother of Pearl side table!

Midnight in Paris

Last night I watched this movie:

Which gave me an overwhelming yearning to go to this city:

But not just Paris during the present.  Paris in the 1920s.

The movie was infused with a sense of place and was as charming and dreamy as the magical city itself.
Perfect movie escapism!

House Progress 4

They have installed all the cabinets in our home!

And painted the interior:

This is the view from the family room to the kitchen-the fireplace has been painted too:

Our stairway rail has been stained an espresso color along with the powder room vanity you can see adjacent to the railing:

View of the dining room facing the butler's pantry:

View of the Study-you can make out the wall paint color a little better here:

More to come next week!
