Over the weekend my friends and fellow book club buddies threw me an aptly themed storybook luncheon.
The decor consisted of faux storybooks strung from the ceiling:

We had a delicious meal of salad with homemade dressing, baked eggplant, cous cous, and polenta fries with aioli sauce, all courtesy of one of the hostesses who is an amazing cook. Followed by this delicious cake, which tasted as cute as it looks (I unfortunately didn't capture the food):
And they showered me with beautiful gifts and a book too, so the little one can follow in her mom's footsteps of being a big reader:
I have less than one week until my due date so I'm definitely counting down now!

ReplyDeleteWhen one is traveling, everything looks brighter and lovelier. That does not mean it IS brighter and lovelier; it just means that sweet, kindly home suffers in comparison to tarted-up foreign places with all their jewels on.
