They have all come at nightfall. By evening, ominous clouds appear overhead hinting of the storm to come, which eventually unleashes a fury that jars me awake in the middle of the night to reveal a show of flashing lights and the violent crash of thunder. Most mornings, the storm is gone leaving barely a trace. I hope these are just April Showers, because this California girl has had to sing herself to sleep with "Raindrops on Roses" more often than she wishes to admit...
Love rain (when I don't have a million and one things to do) but there is something beautiful about it...no denying that...love all the pictures especially the first and last one!
ReplyDeleteStrangely, I really miss thunder storms! We get endless amounts of rain in England but it seldom gets humid enough for thunder! I hope the rain clears up for you, April tends to have rubbish weather everywhere!
ReplyDeleteThat's the best use of boots I've seen in a while... too bad we need to be wearing ours all week!

Great images...love a good lazy day rain!!
ReplyDeleteLove this post and these pictures and I absolutely love rain. I have often times dragged my husband to drive around and find a spot to watch lightning storms. It's worth it every single time. =) Weather here has been crazy, huh? It literally feels like there's a tornado warning every other day.
ReplyDeleteUnder tornado watch here in ATL! Kate, somehow you made ominous into amazing! Love those images...have a good one and stay dry!

The loud ones are little scary to me...but I just adore a good night rain! Waking up to that little bit of chill and the fresh smell of after rain...Ah, nothing better! (c: Here's to more sunny days and clear nights in your neck of the woods!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Kate! We have storm clouds looming here in KC.

ReplyDeleteawesome images! I actually love the rain...
ReplyDeleteI don't mind rain and a good thunderstorm once in a while (especially when I'm indoors), but I couldn't handle it all the time. We've been having great April weather here, which makes me suspect that our summer will be pretty awful. Love the images, especially the first one with the wellies!
ReplyDeleteThey said a big storm is heading to NYC, can't wait. I love the sound of thunderstorms and watering hitting the windows...so romantic! Kate you must go to the Anguila Viceroy and take me with you...my friend went and loved it!

All these photos make the rain look so pretty, but even the short amount of time I've been living in San Francisco has taught me that rain for days on end puts me in a dour mood. I'd take sun over rain any day (well maybe except for the occasional lazy Sunday!)
ReplyDeleteCan I just tell you how much I looove the flowering branches in the rainboots? Enjoy the night time rains, they'll eventually bring May flowers. (At least, that's what I keep telling myself in the endless days of gray and wet we've benn having!)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots! Loved that puddle reflection. Have a delightful day, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteIt has been raining a lot ion Rio... kinda like it better in your beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteHugs & kisses from Rio!

OMG, nothing prepares you for the thunderstorms and rainstorms in Texas! We had NO idea living in California what was going on a few states over, right?! It brings a whole other element to driving in the rain...
ReplyDeleteand p.s. so this is another way to get you to sing? :)
