Flowers to Fashion

Last weekend I took a trip to the Dallas Arboretum before the end of Spring bloom.  The Arboretum is brimming with vibrant colors and floras in species both familiar and exotic.  We walked the grounds, admiring the flowers that spanned the color spectrum from bright whites, to shocking pinks, neon yellows, and muted purples.  I couldn't help but think that Spring dresses more than ever have been mirroring the vibrant colors of these Spring blooms.  Inspired by my trip, I put together flowers to fashion with help from Net-a-Porter and present and past Spring Runway shows.

  3. Thanks! The purple jumper is from Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 runway show! I don't think I have the height (or the bank account) to pull it off, but it's gorgeous!

Did you see my post about spring in my neck of the woods?...if anything I played it down. We don't even the little green tip of the crocuses peeping out yet. It's brown and sad.

  15. I love this post Kate! You know how much I'm in love with flowers, gardens and arboretums. I'm starting to take some flower arranging classes here, we'll see how it goes :) By the way, I want ALL the dresses in this post...but I think I will have to settle for the flowers in my living room instead - which is not such a bad consolation prize, right?!

p.s. did I tell you we're thinking to go to Amsterdam to see the tulips? LOVE spring!

  16. I always think of you at any botanical garden, because I know how much you love them! You mentioned Amsterdam to see the tulips, wish I could join you! I read an article a couple of yrs ago about the flowers blooming in the surrounding area of Amsterdam in CN Traveler and the pictures blew me away!
