Monday Escapes

For this Monday's Escape I'm taking you on a hike.  Not just any old hike though, one that will end here:

For those of you who don't enjoy camping, the other plus of this hike is that you won't be sleeping in a tent...

And your legs won't hurt at all in the end, because it's virtual, so sit back and enjoy the scenery:

We will be weaving through varied climates and topographies: finding ourselves in balmy forests, freezing valleys, and seeing a few more ruins along the way...

We are almost there I can see the crowning glory of Machu Picchu in the distance...

And we made it...

That wasn't so hard at all, was it?

Hope you enjoy the view from the top...

  1. Gorgeous! This was one of our honeymoon destinations three years ago and I still remember it vividly. I thought the hike was easy enough (I've been on tougher trails), but we didn't camp out. I'd like to do the complete Inca Trail one day though.

  4. Oooooohhhh fabulous! I can see myself perched on those rocks absorbing the scenery in the last photo (although I would definitely be sitting a lot further back!)

  9. Wow! Fantastic! I actually am a little out of breath, but not from the virutal hike...from the virtual thinning of the atmosphere during the climb. ;)

I can't imagine what this is like in real life. Love how the clouds settle above the valleys.

  15. I wouldn't get enough of that view from the top. There are few things compared to the feeling you have when you're on top of the mountain and with very little effort you empty your mind of thoughts and just take in the beauty of the scenery. :) Ada
